About Open Doors

Open Doors is an international online scholarship competition organized by the Association of Global Universities with support from Russian public institutions. It gives talented international candidates a streamlined route to study at leading Russian universities.

For Bachelor and Master tracks, the competition has two main stages: portfolio and entrance testing in the first stage, followed by second-round subject tasks. This site focuses on the second round for Bachelor-level preparation.

Page 2 · Eligibility

Who can apply for the Open Doors scholarship?

These are the official Open Doors eligibility rules published by the organizers. RusPath is an independent registration and preparation service — we help you meet these requirements, but the final criteria and results are decided by the official Open Doors competition.

Bachelor's track

Ages 16–23, no prior higher education, and holding (or completing) a secondary-education credential that qualifies you for university admission.

Master's track

Holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or in your final year of one.

Foreign citizenship

Open to international applicants, stateless persons, and compatriots living abroad — not open to Russian citizens.

No mandatory language test

Programs are offered in Russian or English. If you need it, a one-year preparatory Russian course is available and your place stays reserved.

Portfolio + entrance test

Selection is based on your portfolio and a subject-specific entrance test — not a separate university entrance exam.

Registration deadline

Registration typically closes around 1 November each year — after that, your account and portfolio are locked for that cycle.

Not sure if you qualify? Book a free consultation and we'll help you check.

Two connected areas: public site and exam room.

Information Site

Program, universities, subject areas, scoring, rules, institutional use are available before the exam.

Secured Exam

The exam area checks internet speed, camera, microphone, full-screen mode, and entire-screen sharing before access.

Locked Structure

Every exam type contains exactly 45 tasks with answers or model answers. Candidates cannot finish with unanswered tasks.

Proctoring Rules

Tab switching, leaving fullscreen, losing focus, ending screen share, and restricted keyboard actions are monitored.

Participating university profiles

University choice is not placed on the main exam entry. In the Russian scholarship process, second-round tasks are subject-area based; university placement comes later through the official selection process.

Page 8 · Why Candidates Register

Train exactly like the real second round — then walk in ready.

Every registered candidate gets a locked exam room built to match Open Doors conditions: the same timing, the same security checks, the same discipline. Nothing about it is a casual quiz.

45 locked questions (3 spoken for Oral) 3 hour timer 3 violation limit 3 subject areas max

Real proctoring conditions

Camera, microphone, full-screen, and entire-screen sharing are checked before entry — the same discipline as exam day, not a relaxed practice mode.

Locked, consistent question sets

Every attempt uses the same structured 45-question format per subject, so you build real familiarity instead of memorizing a random quiz.

A reviewed, personal account

Your registration is checked by a real administrator before you get login access — only your chosen subjects are unlocked for you, nothing more.

Room to actually improve

A locked attempt after repeated violations isn't the end — you can reset and try again as many times as you need before the real round.

Common questions before you register

How much does registering through RusPath cost?

It depends on how many subject areas you register for and what stage of support you need — we'll give you the exact figure on your free consultation call. What we can say up front: our fees are lower than most similar agencies and intermediaries, and there's no cost just to ask.

What if I don't win a place in the Open Doors competition?

Open Doors is a competitive, merit-based process run by the official organizers — no one can guarantee an admission outcome. What RusPath guarantees is full support and follow-through on your registration process itself: document preparation, portfolio guidance, and second-round exam practice, all the way through.

Is it safe to share my personal information and documents?

Yes. Your information and documents are used only for your registration process and are never shared with third parties without your consent.

How long does the whole process take?

After you submit your registration, an administrator typically reviews it within 24–48 hours. From there, timing depends on document checks, the official Open Doors calendar, and how quickly you complete each step — your consultation call is the best place to get a realistic timeline for your situation.

Do I need to already speak Russian?

No — Open Doors offers programs in both Russian and English, and a one-year preparatory Russian course is available if you need it, with your place reserved while you complete it.

What documents do I need to register on this site?

A personal photo, your Tazkira/ID scan, and your passport. You can also add other supporting documents (certificates, transcripts) — those are optional.

For education centers and scholarship mentors

The platform is designed for education centers that want a controlled preparation environment. It can be extended later with accounts, dashboards, CSV export, a larger question bank, and mentor review.

Current storage is kept on the candidate's device for simple progress review while preserving the realistic exam flow.
